Our Basic Beliefs

The Church As a church we believe in the power of each believer having spiritual gifts and called to minister to all. Because of this each person in the church is important and equal.

“3 For by the grace given to me, I tell everyone among you not to think of himself more highly than he should think. Instead, think sensibly, as God has distributed a measure of faith to each one. 4 Now as we have many parts in one body, and all the parts do not have the same function, 5 in the same way we who are many are one body in Christ and individually members of one another.”  Romans 12: 3-4

Scripture We believe that the Bible is the divinely inspired word of God and as such all parts of it are to be followed and lived by.

“16 All Scripture is inspired by God and is profitable for teaching, for rebuking, for correcting, for training in righteousness, 17 so that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.” 2 Timothy 3:16-17

The Trinity

God We believe that God is the one true God who is Creator of all. We believe He is all powerful and all knowing.

Jesus Christ We believe Jesus Christ is the eternal only Begotten Son of God who was conceived through immaculate conception through the Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ walked the earth, taught, and performed miracles ultimately going to the cross where He was crucified and resurrected on the third day. Belief in Christ is the only requirement for Salvation.

“16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16

The Holy Spirit We believe that after Christ’s ascension the Holy Spirit, the divine spirit of God, came to earth and indwells within all believers.

8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come on you, and you will be My witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”Acts 1:8

Salvation We believe that salvation comes through belief in Christ and through the grace of God.

“9 If you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” Romans 10:9

For other beliefs please see the Baptist Faith and Message which we ascribe to.
